It doesn't matter what subject I paint, I always enjoy working my way around each subject. I do sometimes head more towards realism, but my aim is always to be loose and keep it fresh. I hope I have managed it in this painting. : )

You certainly have managed to keep this painting loose and fresh Millie. Their coats a nicely understated and read perfectly.
ReplyDeleteIn my studio work I do sometimes premix some general tones. When I'm outside I mix as I go.
I love how you use your paintbrush to replicate the texture - whether it's a sheep, a hen or a cow - you are an amazingly talented painter!
